Job Description

We are excited to be recruiting for several experienced Structural Engineers with Steelworks experience to join our Review & Acceptance teams working on Hinkley Point C, the largest construction site in Europe.

The roles would suit experienced professionals, with stakeholder management skills, as you will be contributing to the review and acceptance of engineering queries for all the steelworks installed across the plants and interfacing with several parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Request, and Exemption Requests originating from the Contractors off site (during manufacturing phase) or on site (during the installation phase) with the support of the Responsible Designer or site Experts when needed.
  • Perform surveillance of manufacturing documents.
  • Provide adequate oversight to ensure the Nuclear Safety requirements are met.
  • Contribute in the resolution and closure of Open Points.
  • Assesses technical risk and subsequently addresses this risk.
  • Report operationally to an Engineering Lead.

    Key Skills & Experience:

  • Degree educated (or equivalent qualifications or experience) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience of structural engineering on a multi-disciplinary project
  • Knowledge of the construction/installation industry
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, report on and escalate relevant issues
  • Experience in the nuclear industry would be a benefit, but is not essential
