Android and iOS QA Engineers (Mid to Senior) – Remote/Hybrid

* Hybrid or Remote working for UK based candidates with occasional visits to their London or Birmingham offices *

Lorien’s client is a very well-known household name (you’ve probably got one of their apps on your phone right now!) with offices and customers across the globe currently looking to bolster their already impressive mobile development function with some great new talent, this time in the shape of Mid to Senior level Android and iOS Quality Assurance Engineers.

Before we go into the finer details, here’s an insight as to what you can expect in return for your efforts:

  • Great remote or hybrid working arrangements (with occasional visits to their amazing London or Birmingham offices)
  • Strong remuneration packages in line with level as well as a great bonus scheme
  • Flexible benefits packages which you can tailor to your own preferences
  • Plenty of opportunities for both professional and technical progression (including personal development days to upskill in any areas of interest to you)
  • A successful, growing team of like-minded and technically brilliant people to work with, and a lot more!

Snapshot of the duties involved:

  • Testing new Android or iOS features from early requirements stages through to production
  • Working in a multidisciplinary function including development, design and product specialists to help improve mobile offerings for a global user base of around 10 million and ensure a 5 star digital experience
  • Being a key part of the Agile team, participating in stand ups and also helping to improve processes as you go
  • Be a technically hands-on figure as you raise and triage bugs, and if a more senior QA Engineer, using your knowledge and skills to guide others in the team as they do so too
  • Use your manual and automated testing skills with XCUITest, Espresso, or other tooling as appropriate
  • Feeding back to the development team wherever possible to improve architecture, testability, performance or anything else

And here’s what you need to bring to the table:

  • Solid knowledge of QA testing for iOS or Android with tools like Espresso, XCUITest, Appium or similar
  • Good knowledge of and track record of testing native customer-facing iOS or Android apps
  • A good grasp of manual and automated testing, exploratory testing, API testing, Front-End testing, and other relevant areas
  • Skills in Swift (ideally 5), Kotlin or another OO language
  • A passion for mobile apps and the development domain (and ideally a great GitHub!)
  • Ability to learn as you go and pick up new skills / technologies along the way while encouraging others to do so too
  • Knowledge of and exposure to CI/CD tooling (whether via Azure, Team City, Jenkins or similar)
  • Ideally skills across any other relevant tech such as XCode, Android Studio, Postman or similar
