Robert Half are proudly partnering with an educational institution based in Easton, BS5. Our client is looking to recruit for a HR Assistant to join their Human Resources team on a temporary basis for three months. The role is working on a hybrid working model; three days working in the office, two days working from home. The working hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.

As a HR Assistant, you will be responsible to support the team with recruitment, onboarding, payroll and HR administration. We are looking to find someone who has a keen interest in HR and can deliver an excellent standard of work in relation to the accuracy and efficiency.

Main duties of the HR Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Administer recruitment requests and maintain central recruitment logs
  • Support with the preparation of job descriptions, person specifications and adverts (internal and external) to reflect best practice where required
  • Place adverts and monitor response rates
    Oversee the onboarding process
  • Carry out pre-employment checks, including DBS checks and references
    Work creatively with Recruitment Leads to consider alternative advertising streams for posts that are hard to fill
  • Maintain a bank of existing template job descriptions and ensure consistent and accurate formatting
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies
  • Escalate HR queries to the HR Business Partner
  • Maintain safeguarding training records
  • Act as a note taker in HR meetings as required
  • Provide general HR administration support to the team

Ideal candidate:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced administration environment
  • Previous experience working in the educational sector is advantageous
  • An understanding of HR and/or recruitment
  • Strong IT knowledge including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel an Office 365
  • Excellent level of communication both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Immediately available and able to travel to the Bristol location
