Due to growth we are currently seeking a Manager of Biostatistics in the UK, to be responsible for implementing our new Graduate Biostatistician Academy and help bring on and develop our entry level talent. Your role will involve people management, training and mentoring and providing input /deliver training for biostatisticians at all levels. Job Description

* *As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
* *Contribute to study protocols (write statistical methodology/analysis section, justification of sample size), mainly for clinical pharmacology and Phase IIa clinical trials.
* *Review study protocols.
* *Perform sample size calculations.
* *Prepare and review statistical analysis plans.
* *Prepare randomisation plans.
* *Be available to discuss statistical aspects of studies with Sponsors and Investigators.
* *Perform statistical analyses on pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, safety and efficacy variables using SAS.
* *Support/help in the preparation of graphs, tables and listings for inclusion in clinical study reports if necessary.
* *Write the statistical sections of the Integrated clinical study reports.
* *Write/follow appropriate SOPs for statistical activities.
* *Provide help and advice to other departments on statistical issues.
* *Keep informed of major relevant developments in statistical, pharmaceutical and computing methodologies.
* *Keep up-to-date with regulatory guidelines on the statistical aspects of clinical trials.
* *Provide training for other statisticians.
* *Provide input to proposals regarding statistical activities and estimates of numbers of TFLs.
* Get involved with business development activities as necessary.
* Liaise with the following functions as required: Data Management, Programming, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Pharmacokinetics, Medical Writing, Proposals and Business Development.
* Support the Director of Biostatistics.
* To undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

– MSc Statistics

– CRO or Pharma indsutry experience

– Previous mentoring experience is required

– Previous management experience is good, but not essential; Lead Statisticians looking to take the next step will also be considered

– Ability to be office-based (with flexibilty) in either Reading or Swansea
