Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry their own caseload of non-complex patients, with supervision and support from qualified therapists as well as supporting the therapists within the team with joint visits.

The post holder will be using highly skilled handling techniques to facilitate patient movement, and rehabilitation and will be implementing exercise and rehabilitation programmes. 

The post holder will also be responsible for issuing and ordering equipment, may support with other administrative and/or housekeeping duties.

Education

Essential criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent or B’TEC
  • Knowledge and Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Previous experience working as a physiotherapy assistant/TI
  • A working knowledge of statistics
  • basic understanding of computers and their application
  • Skills and Abilities

    Essential criteria

  • Basic clinical reasoning skills in physiotherapy
  • Ability to work independently within clinical area
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • proven organisational skills including prioritisation
  • Desirable criteria

  • Actively involved and contributing in evidence based practise
  • Experience working with assistants
  • Ability to lead and motivate others within the team
  • Welsh speaking
