We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker in the Looked After Children’s Team within Hackney. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

The responsibilities of the Social Worker includes:

  • work with Children Looked After in a long term team, post Final Hearing

  • Supporting children and young people in foster care, residential care or semi independence

  • You will hold up to 17 children and work as part of a Unit made up of a Consultant Social Worker (manager), 3 social workers and an administrator.

  • To work in a trauma informed way to promote placement stability; as well as applying systemic principles to be child focused, inclusive and to always take the wider context into consideration.

  • In Hackney we have in-house clinical services and a multidisciplinary virtual school to ensure children’s needs are met.

    • To ideal candidate will have:

  • Social Work England registration

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
