Robert Half is working with a Housing Association to recruit for a Senior Development Finance Analyst to be based in its Manchester office. This is a unique opportunity to work for an organisation which has both a non for profit and commercial divisions to its business.

Reporting to the Head of Development Finance and Analysis, you will be the main point of contact for investment and finance related matters for both private sale and affordable housing property development. Playing a crucial part in building and maintaining relationships between the Development team and Finance Team, you must possess strong stakeholder management skills to succeed.

In addition, the role will also include the following;

  • Lead on providing timely and accurate management reporting information on the scheme portfolio
  • Act as the principal finance representative at monthly scheme progress meetings
  • Lead on responding to management accounting queries from regional stakeholders
  • Pro-actively supports the regional Head of Development Finance in reviewing commercial investment appraisals for proposed acquisitions, conducting financial due diligence, advising the Development team on deal structures, and drafting investment papers
  • Assist in assessing the financial and commercial risks of investment proposals, applies sensitivity and scenario analysis, and identifies mitigating actions for risk management
  • Review and monitor finance, tax, and control risk on schemes, ensuring that these are effectively managed, supported by the Regional Head of Development Finance, as appropriate
  • Ensure that governance and financial regulations are appropriately applied across the development programme

You will have the following experience;

  • You will be a Qualified Accountant or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience in property development finance, ideally with prior experience of investment appraisal financial modelling for mixed tenure schemes
  • Ideally you will have a thorough understanding of the UK residential real estate market
  • Strong track record of delivering timely and accurate management reporting
  • Experience of working autonomously (this role will sit within the regions), with an ability to multi-task and manage the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, effectively dealing with and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within Development (Land, Delivery, Sales etc.) and Finance colleagues
