Resource Manager/Technical Team Manager

Modis are currently working in partnership with a global technical service provider to recruit a Resource Manager/Technical Manager to manage an existing team of experienced IT Engineers.

Please note this a hybrid role and you will be required to travel around the midlands remotely managing a team of approximately 24 engineers.

The Role

As a Resource Manager/Technical Team Manager you will be an experienced people manager and be comfortable remotely managing a regional team of IT Engineers.

The Responsibilities

  • Line-management responsibility for the staff within your area of responsibility on eye level.
  • Personal contact with employees requires a regular on-site presence at the customer location, if possible
  • People management, workload management; ensuring the availability of the appropriate skills for processing managed services and project enquiries.
  • Manage, develop, motivate and coach team to help ensure the delivery of function and business targets and implement performance management solution where required.
  • Responsible for managing budget/P&L to maintain spend in line with budgetary limitations.
  • Ensuring the achievement of benchmark KPIs and P&L targets set by the company
  • Manage and implement projects with operational or strategic scope.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all business-related matters.
  • Build up and maintain productive relationships and networks on management levels of the relevant internal operational interfaces
  • The Requirements

  • Demonstrable success in managing an IT services teams.
  • Experience of successfully managing staff.
  • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
  • An excellent level of knowledge and experience in relation to the coaching of staff.
  • Fundamental understanding of the IT industry, and the ability to match staff to customer requirements The ability to effectively manage cost.
  • Excellent communication and personal presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and good escalation management skills.
  • Desirable

  • Service/Operation Management experience.
  • Knowledge of IT standards such as ITIL and of current compliance regulations.
