This position has come about as the previous Management Accountant (Robert Half placed) has recently been promoted to Finance Manager. *My client is primarily looking to speak with ACA candidates that have either recently qualified or have qualified in the last 1-3 years.*

The Role:

The Management Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure that the financial numbers are accounted for correctly by managing the month-end process for each of the Group’s entities. The Management Accountant will also assist the Finance Manager with cash flow forecasting, annual budgeting process and supporting the development of the Finance Assistants. This is a great stepping stone for someone to start thinking about future management!

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership over the monthly balance sheet reconciliation, including monthly consolidation.
  • Review of long-term contracts and ensure revenue is recognised correctly.
  • Preparation of the monthly group management accounts pack. Along with preparation of departmental cost reports.
  • Ownership of transactional finance elements; Inter-company transactions, fixed asset management and journal posting
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly group VAT return.
  • Working closely with the project finance team to ensure costs are correctly booked to each project.
  • Supporting the AP function
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with annual group audit and tax reporting, including R&D and capital allowance claims.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with the budgeting process.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified ACA (Newly qualified or 1-3 years PQE)
  • Experienced in the audit process
  • Experienced in the processing of month-end and budgeting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with stakeholders
