British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) are looking to recruit a Licensing Officer to join the Ringing and Nest Recording Team, which supports UK conservation efforts through the operation of volunteer surveys that monitor bird survival and breeding success. As a member of the Licensing Team, the post-holder will support the Licensing Manager in ensuring that bird ringers and nest recorders are in possession of the permits and permissions they require to undertake their activities within the law. 

Candidates must have excellent computing, data handling and administrative skills, and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to a range of volunteer and professional stakeholders. Experience/knowledge of bird ringing is desirable but not essential; knowledge of wildlife law would be beneficial but is not a requirement.

This position is based at our HQ in Thetford, Norfolk, although you will be able to work from home part of the time. We have a hybrid working policy which allows staff to work more flexibly and work from home 40% of the time and the office 60% of the time.
