Infrastructure Architect – Inside IR35, Hybrid working role (2 days onsite in Warrington per week)

This is where you come in
We have an Infrastructure Architect required to be responsible for the development of solution architectures which meet business needs and are aligned to the overall UU Enterprise Architecture.
What will you focus on?
The Domain digital technology strategy, aligning it to UU’s strategic direction, the Domain needs and to support the key business unit, company and customer challenges
Integrating the Domain strategy across all key digital domains (Technology, Data, People, Process) and aligning that to Domain customer needs
Develop the digital architectural standards against which digital asset roadmaps, investment, project design and customer solutions should be developed within their Domain.
Consistency of approach to digital technology architecture across UU
Provide Architectural Leadership, Technical Authority and Governance of architects (internal and external) working on projects within their Domain.
To build and foster the relationship between DSCO Strategy and Planning and key business stakeholders such that key stakeholders achieve consistency in service and delivery against commitments made.
To be the key architectural contact for their Domain and to communicate clearly, concisely and in a non-technical manner to Domain stakeholders, the technical direction and how this aligns with the Domain vision and architecture. To then take this roadmap and work with the DSCO Portfolio team to build this into a high level plan, providing input into high level estimates and understanding the interdependencies and complexities of any proposed solutions and how these can be mitigated
Team work with the other Domain Architects, Technical Architects and Business SMEs is key to delivery of UU’s DSCO strategy and associated business outcomes
What experience do you need?
Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure Technology, particularly Redhat, Windows, SQLServer, Networks & Firewalls, Active Directory & Virtualisation
Good understanding of architecture disciplines, processes, concepts and best practices and able to act as an advisor on these areas to junior team members
Knowledge of the project management process and how the architectural processes integrate with and support the end to end life cycle
Able to act as a technical SME, linking IT strategy with delivery plans and appropriate milestones and costs
Good analytical and conceptual skills, with the capability to conduct hypothesis-driven analyses
Ability to depict information conceptually, logically and physically
Sound communication skills in order to ensure complex information can be exchanged in a manner appropriate for the audience
