The Birmingham Commonwealth Games have an exciting, unique opportunity for a Project Support professional to join the Organising Committee and support the delivery of the Observer Programme. The Programme is an opportunity for multiple parties to experience and learn from the delivery of Birmingham 2022.

Key responsibilities will include coordination of administrative requirements of the programme, communication with various participants and building effective relationships to ensure a successful programme in delivered.

We are seeking individuals to join us who are innovative, commercially astute and have a genuine passion and interest in delivering the most sustainable, inclusive and accessible Commonwealth Games to date.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Observer Programme Project Manager in the coordination and delivery of the programme.
  • Coordinate onsite with various Birmingham 2022 Functional Areas to ensure a successful and efficient programme.
  • Management of Observer Programme Hosts, who will be on the ground with participants.
  • Support with any correspondence and communication needed with participants/stakeholders of the Observer Programme.
  • Coordination of any travel requirements during the Observer Programme.
  • Support in management of tickets and accreditation for participants of the Observer Programme.
  • Coordinate and organise any logistical, administrative and technical requirements and changes/updates that occur during the programme.

    Skills and Experience

    Essential

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to influence others and manage relationships with various stakeholders.

    Contract: Temporary Contract until August 2022

    Location: One Brindley Place, Birmingham (full time office-based)

    Salary: £14.00 – £16.50 per hour

    Please note, due to the nature of this huge event, shift work including weekend working will be required at Games time. Furthermore, there will be limitations on taking annual leave during the Games operational period in July and August. More specific details can be discussed at interview.
