Description of Role:

We are currently looking for 2 Detective Sergeants to join the Fraud Operations Teams within the Economic Crime Directorate. The Fraud Investigation Teams including the National Lead Force, investigate the most complex and high-profile fraud investigations that cross over into multiple force areas and jurisdictions. Their work is also responsible for some of the most significant fraud and corruption prosecutions and convictions in recent years.

You will supervise a team of staff to investigate, detect and prevent crimes and produce accurate reports and case files. Playing a leading role in police and agency-led operations, you will help to reduce and detect crime and the impact of crime in one of the most famous square miles on the planet.

You will be a qualified and experienced Detective Sergeant who can demonstrate your passion for working in the City of London. Experience in managing complex disclosure procedures would also be a distinct advantage as would a proven ability to undertake proactive investigations.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have excellent oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with the public, private sector and colleagues at all levels.
  • Have effective written communication skills with an ability to focus on detail and provide sound rationale for recommendations.
  • Be able to set clear and informed investigative strategies and ensure investigations adhere to Fraud Operations key operational principles.
  • Be able to successfully manage and prioritise a significant workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience of supporting and developing staff and of improving team performance.
  • Have a good working knowledge and practical experience of CPIA.
