Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

The Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team in Buckinghamshire Mental Health Services is a key part of the Urgent Care Pathway meeting the demands of the Ten-Year Plan to provide Crisis Response and Home Treatment Services by 2021. Our Crisis team was started January 2020 and we are continually developing the service to meet the needs of our patients and their families.

Clinicians employed into the team are part of an exciting and developing service aimed at supporting our most vulnerable patients and their families in the least restrictive setting possible, by providing a variety of highly intensive interventions at home.

We require clinicians who can bring their own professional expertise to our fast-paced team, and who are confident in managing risk in the least restrictive way. By its nature, crisis work requires professionals who have a broad range of skills including being skilled mental health assessors with a proven ability to signpost service users towards the most effective treatment pathways.

However, a crisis can manifest with a range of needs and whether you have a background in mental health nursing, social care or occupational therapy we want you to use your skills as part of a team to develop individualised care packages for our service users and their families.

Service Users access a crisis response in a variety of ways, ranging from referrals from their GP and attendance at an emergency department, to when they need care in the community and are seen by the police and our street triage teams. The aim of the Urgent Care Pathway is to bring together all those access points under one team, including:

Psychiatric Liaison
Overnight Response Team
Assessment Teams
Street Triage and Health Based Places of Safety

The successful applicants will participate in a duty rota of early, late or long day shifts covering 7 days a week and we are committed to supporting staff to balance home and work life with flexible working options. We are a friendly and supportive team with strong leadership and direction. Our work is interesting and varied with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills both in the workplace and via our excellent Learning & Development team. The role is predominantly based in High Wycombe and will require some wider travel within the county.

High Wycombe is a large market town in Buckinghamshire, lying in the Valley of the River Wye, surrounded by the Chiltern Hills. There are excellent transport links to London and the rest of the country, with a mainline station with direct access to London and good access to the country’s motorways. Schools in Buckinghamshire are highly regarded and house prices and rents are lower than those found in London.

We have recently move to the South Buckinghamshire Mental Hub, Saffron House. Saffron House is an ecological flagship for the trust with environmental sustainability a top priority.

We would welcome clinicians who are keen to develop or further enhance their skills in a variety of areas and to help shape this exciting and developing service. We will fully support you to develop and enhance your skills and confidence to reach your full potential.
