Job Title: Duty manager

Hours:

Working for 30 hours per week on a rota basis over 7 days. Could be additional shifts during morning (7.45 am – 3.00pm) afternoons (14.45 – 22.00) evening (22.00 – 8.00 am). Overtime and holiday cover is also available.

Who we are?

Our hostel in the city centre of Bath has 200 beds which are normally used for school groups, sporting teams and backpackers. We also accommodate referrals from different agencies in Bath and surrounding areas, which stay at the YMCA for several weeks before going onto more permanent accommodation. We are looking for a duty manager to work on our reception and join our friendly team.

What does the job entail?

  • Creating a harmonious, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in the hostel and communal spaces.
  • To deliver exceptional customer services to customers entering the building.
  • Engaging with guests and residents- building rapport and relationships which encourage guests to visit us again and again.
  • Dealing with reservations, enquiries and meeting room bookings.
  • Ensuring paperwork for bookings, arrivals and departures are correct and up to date.
  • Working closely with the team to safeguard the wellbeing of our residents.
  • Continually seek areas to improve the service delivered to customers.
  • Managing our online booking system, replying to emails and general administration in prompt, professional manner.
  • Build a good relationship with our long-term residents
  • Ensure cleaning standards are kept to the highest.
  • Must be confident to work alone at time.
  • Working with a small team of duty managers/receptionist/housekeeping and maintenance.

    Hourly rate of pay:

    £11.00 per hour for shifts worked between 8.00 am – 10.00 pm.

    £12.00 per hour for shifts worked between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am.
