Perth and Kinross Council are committed to supporting all parents and families to have access to the information and services that equip them to support their children to grow up as happy, healthy, attaining and achieving as possible. 

This post will develop and co-ordinate the delivery of support to families with older children. This will include a range of evidence-based programmes including Strengthening Families, Teen Triple P, and relevant information sessions. In this post you will have responsibility for the co-ordination, planning and delivery of identified training for staff which will include Solihull Approach (Foundation), Connecting with Parent Motivation, and in house training.

The successful candidate will be responsible for line management of staff, aligning group leaders to programme delivery, identification of delivery sites and management of catering, resources and other logistics that enable groups to run smoothly. You will be responsible for the development of positive networks with services and other organisations to promote the programmes and facilitate effective referral processes. The role will involve participation in direct delivery of programmes.

This post is currently homeworking due to the pandemic. The Council is currently progressing with a hybrid working model offering access to office working on some days/when required. Initially this is on a temporary basis with longer term options becoming available in future. The Individual

The successful candidate must have a degree or equivalent qualification and experience of working in a relevant discipline such as Social Care, Community Education, Health, Social Work or Education.

You must have excellent organisational skills. You must have experience and skills in engaging with parents, young people or children and delivering group work. You must have good communication and listening skills and be able to develop appropriate relationships with families. You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and able to share this with service users.

Ideally you will have knowledge of working with children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs and have an understanding of child development.

You must be trained in at least one of the following programmes: 
– Strengthening Families
– Teen Triple P 
– Incredible Years 
– Solihull Approach (foundation) Train the Trainer.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
