Swansea University are looking to recruit an Occupational Health Nurse to cover 9 months Maternity leave to work on a full-time basis. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day to be worked between the hours of 8.30am – 4.00pm.

The Occupational Health (OH) Service provides a pro-active, professional, health and wellbeing focused service for all University staff and students. This is a great opportunity for the successful applicant to expand their skills and experience in a supportive team environment within a nurse led team.

Main purpose:

  • Undertake Routine pre-employment screening and medicals for staff and students.
  • Perform Phlebotomy.
  • Carry out Health surveillance.
  • Administer the Vaccination programme for students and staff undertaking exposure prone and non-exposure prone procedures.
  • Provision of post exposure care advice.
  • Pregnancy risk assessments.
  • Health promotion.
  • Applicants must have:

  • Qualified Nurse to RGN Adult Level.
  • NMC Registration and revalidation.
  • At least 2 years post qualification experience
  • Experience in phlebotomy
  • Knowledge and/or experience of health promotion education
  • Experience/evidence of ability to carry out vaccination programmes
