About the role

x2 positions available, both hybrid/ primarily home based.

One is for the East and Southeast regions.

The other, the Northwest, Midlands & Wales.

You will support the Head of HSQE with a range of activities including the monitoring and advice for pre-construction and site-based activities in line with policies and procedures. You will be advising the teams on Principal Contractor, Principal Designer duties. You will provide proactive advice, support and guidance to operational teams on all matters relating to current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.

You will work closely with the business divisions throughout:

Southeast, London area and East of England, with occasional travel to near Reading. You would need to be willing to travel within the UK on occasion.

Northeast, Midlands, and Wales, with occasional travel to near Reading. You would need to be willing to travel within the UK on occasion.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

– Support and work closely with all departments across the business. Promoting continuous improvement and development.
– Provide guidance and expertise to development, construction, and O&M planned maintenance teams on all HSE and CDM related matters.
– Monitor construction activities against industry best practice and regulatory standards.
– Support with the compliance and maintenance of the ISO systems, particularly 14001 and 45001.
– Regularly create, review, and advise on HSE and CDM documentation, such as RAMS, Environmental and Construction Phase Plans.
– Undertake accident and incident investigations as required.
– Working with a range of individuals across a diverse portfolio, to ensure that safe working practices are planned for and conducted.

Skills & Competencies

– Experience within high-risk sectors such Construction, Infrastructure or M&E.
– Sound knowledge and experience of CDM 2015 and Principal Contractor and Designer duties.
– Knowledge of 14001 and 45001 ISO standards advantageous but not essential.
– Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft word applications.
– Ability to analyse data through excel.
– Ability to produce and present learning packages or deliver targeted communications.
– Proactive problem solver willing to assist the team.
– Full, clean UK Driver’s License.

Qualifications & experience

– NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
– Achieved or working towards Grad IOSH or equivalent.
– Full, clean UK Driver’s License.
