Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Head of Information Services, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the IS function, document control and facilities management
* Act as Data Protection focal point for the Company supported by legal
* Develop the IS technology, knowledge and information management strategy and annual operating plan
* Monitor, review and take corrective action (if required) to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the strategy; assess and report progress and delivery against the strategy as part of regular business performance feedback processes; ensure the continued alignment of IS with the business strategy
* Stay ahead of technology trends and continuously benchmark both inside and outside of the Oil & Gas industry to develop short and long-term vision and strategic plans in alignment with the Company’s strategies, goals and business operating requirements
* Develop and enforce the corporate Information Management & Security policy, standards & procedures to ensure the protection of enterprise information assets and the confidentiality, integrity, availability and security of information
* Proactively identify opportunities to implement or enhance processes that will elevate security, increase operational efficiency and satisfy business demands
* Drive the development of enterprise information technology standards to ensure consistency, compatibility and integration (e.g., multivendor platforms) throughout the organisation
* Ensure and validate the integrity of data, proprietary information and related intellectual property through effective information security and access management controls
* Participate as a member of the senior leadership team
* Provide direction on the evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic, business and technical systems
* Ensure appropriate governance structures and processes are in place; demonstrate that the Information Services function is delivering value to the business and is proactively managing identified business risks
* Evaluate alternatives for the enhancement or re-engineering of information services in keeping with the needs and objectives of the company
* Ensure the continuous improvement in the overall information security posture across the organisation; recognise emerging threats and vulnerabilities, mitigate potential digital security risks in order to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of the Company’s information assets
* Ensure regulatory compliance with all regional and international applicable legislation; establish a register of legal, statutory and regulatory obligations (related to information systems and security); raise the awareness and highlight the implications of changes in applicable legislation to the Board

Experience & Qualifications:
* Demonstrable experience working at a senior level in Information Services
* Must have exposure to delivering business wide projects and initiatives.
* Must have working knowledge of the Cloud and cloud transformation process.
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes, and technology
* Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all key stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding
* Demonstrable business planning, analytical, and conceptual skills
* Demonstrable project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
* Capable of working across organisational boundaries and with multiple cultures
* Proactive, adaptable, taking action and anticipating opportunities
* Maintains knowledge of relevant current and emerging business/technology management practices through literature, conferences / seminars, and professional networking with other leading practitioners and professional bodies
* Degree/Higher Education Institute (HEI) qualification and / or Professional accreditations from recognised industry bodies and commitment to continual professional development
* Relevant experience in large enterprise/multi-national organisation, coupled with experience in a senior management role, and ideally experience with delivering large projects
* Background in delivering IS projects essential
* Demonstrable experience of leading teams.
* Oil industry experience is favourable
