Production is the backbone of our build process. We build over 10,000 homes a year, nationally. Consistency in quality of build, safety standards and communication with our customers are all key components to a successful production team. We look for people who have the skills to manage projects effectively, build strong relationships with contractors and all trades on site

The Production Director will be responsible for guiding the Production teams across the region to achieve high standards of production quality, to budget, ensuring health and safety standards are maintained always. The successful candidate will have a drive for continuous improvement in a customer centric agenda. You will challenge the status quo and proactively identify operational enhancements that make sure we are the home builder of choice for our customers.

You will lead and inspire the Production teams within your region by raising the bar in people capability and ensuring the quality of talent within the team is able to deliver its current and future requirements. In short, you will support and grow your people to be the very best they can be.

What you will do:

  • Lead the Production Team to achieve the agreed build programmes
  • Carry out technical feasibility review of site prior to Land Purchase Exercise (LPE).
  • Appraise the project buildability in conjunction with the Development Department and produce a construction programme.
  • Attend pre- planning, pre- tender and pre- start meetings to ensure all necessary construction issues are addressed prior to commencement on site.
  • Monitor and drive weekly progress and liaise with other department heads to resolve any delays or issues identified.
  • Ensure that a culture exists within the site construction team that guarantees the required quality of the build process is achieved.
  • Undertake regular visits to site to review progress and adherence to company and HSE procedures.
  • Ensure a rigorous Health & Safety plan is fully developed prior to any site start, for the entire development process from pre-start through to site completion, across the Region. 
  • What you will have:

  • Extensive Production/Construction management experience is essential, with a detailed knowledge of the building and construction trade 
  • Through knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation you will be able to minimise risk through developing and endorsing safe operating processes
  • Ability to plan and make decisions, take accountability for and can justify decisions, ensuring teams deliver on those decisions
  • A natural and engaging management and communication style, demonstrating a passion and excellence for developing trusting, sustainable and robust relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to manage and track costs (working to site budgets)
  • First Aid qualified
  • CCSCS card (Site Management) is preferred 
  • NVQ Residential Construction Senior Site Management L7 is preferred
