Job title: Building Lead

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Hours of work: 37 hours per week

The Role:
As the Building Lead you will ensure the building is delivered on time, within budget and quality driven. You will promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture. Ensuring compliance is in place with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements. You will also be responsible for producing weekly & monthly reports for the building scope & these will be issued to the Area Manager in line with the reporting calendar. You will also promote good industrial relations and efficiently deal with any issues which may arise.

Responsibilities:
– Responsible for the Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC Installations, specifically for 60+ operatives on site.
– Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
– Manage the team delivering all of the day to day aspects of construction and site engineering ensuring that safe systems of work are adhered to.
– Manage the interfaces between the client partners and subcontractors to ensure building delivery.
– Lead, manage and motivate the building construction team through implementation of best practice.
– Ensure productivity reviews are being carried out and reports are available
– Review of engineering design deliverables, procedures & RAMs.
– Ensure Management of Change for all Site activities are identified, justified and issued promptly via the Change Process.
– Ensure the early implementation of Completions (ORBIT) with direct interfacing with Completions leads.
– Assure Project CDM compliance

Qualifications & Experience:
– Relevant engineering qualification in subject matter
– Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)
– IOSH Managing safely
– Proven track record in nuclear power preferred or other highly regulated industry.
– Experienced in delivering and operating within major construction projects.
Ideally applicants should also have:

– BPSS Clearance or have the ability to obtain BPSS or higher.
