A collaboration between Brunel University London and , BCC has been awarded funding to work with companies across Europe and UK in the aerospace, automotive, construction and engineering sectors.

The work involves:

  • Design and process development for composite manufacturing,
  • Mitigating risks during design and production by conduction process FEA simulations,
  • Preparing composite components and samples using different manufacturing methods,
  • Management of technical deliverables,
  • Developing research ideas and proposals in the area of composite materials.
  • The candidate should also have either:

  • PhD in Engineering with an excellent understanding of Composite materials
  • Masters (MSc, MEng, MPhil or equivalent) in Engineering with an excellent understanding of Composite materials
  • The successful candidate will interact with, and supervise PhD students undertaking their research at the National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) and contribute to the research strands of NSIRC so as to meet its mission. Amongst the aims of NSIRC is to develop a critical mass of research informed by the needs of industry, across the field of structural integrity and to develop novel postgraduate programmes to train the next generation of researchers and engineers to support UK science and innovation
