Are you an apprentice trained service engineer, looking to work for a well established OEM of CNC machine tools? Are you seeking more training and investment in your own personal development? The business specialise in the supply, installation, breakdown repair and servicing of FANUC controlled CNC machines. They have a highly experienced UK wide service team, technical helpdesk support, training centres here in the UK where the machines are either modified or repaired, and applications support to their customers.

This position is ideal for a recently qualified maintenance engineer who’s looking to go into field engineering, or perhaps a junior service engineer who’s looking for the chance to step up to a senior level. This role offers a lot of training both electrically and mechanically, both from job shadowing and with the investment of external training courses to get fully up to scratch.

Responsibilities for the Service Engineer include –

  • Carrying out both electrical and mechanical warranty servicing of CNC machinery
  • Identifying replacement parts needed and placing orders for parts at head office
  • PDI of machinery when required
  • Minor repair work and parts swapped out like for like
  • Once trained, installing, levelling and geometry checks on machinery
  • Discuss and relay faults with Service Manager and other members of the team
  • Travel from home to site covering your own region, but must be prepared to work within the UK and Ireland when required
  • All work is planned at least 7 days in advance and jobs are sent through weekly

    To be successful in this role, we’re looking for the following skills and experience

    – A proven background in machine maintenance, or junior service engineer
    – Strong mechanical skills, and be able to replace common parts like for like
    – A good level of electrical competency, understanding how to safely test and inspect parts
    – Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
    – Clean driving license
