We’re looking for a Quality Auditor to join our Central Engineering Team at First UK Bus covering the UK! 

Your mission as a Quality Auditor is to probe and identify any procedural non-compliance. By undertaking investigations and identifying root cause you will help to make positive improvements across the business.

We are looking for someone who has experience of quality assurance and performance improvement systems and ideally qualified in quality auditing.

You will have excellent communication skills, be able to disseminate information and present recommendations and findings confidently.

This is a remote role and you can be based anywhere in the UK

Regular UK wide travel will be required.

Travel expenses are covered by us, including accommodation and meals

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake field audits, paperwork and digital system checks to verify adherence to Engineering Policy, Standards and SSoW.
  • Ensure audit observations are structured to verify compliance to industry regulations and company standards.
  • Prepare and deliver audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and detailing risks to relevant Senior Management as required.
  • Create corrective action plans and assist Local leadership teams on verification of issue resolution.
  • Facilitate education of Engineering staff to ensure compliance with FirstBus standards.
  • Encourage a continuous improvement approach to resolving non-conformity where employees are encouraged to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Divisional Engineering colleagues to make recommendations for improving policy and standards.
  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to the Quality Management System policies and goals, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Skills and Experience

  • Certified Manager of Quality/Organisational Excellence through a recognised body such as the CQI or equivalent.
  • Experience of quality assurance and performance improvement systems or qualification in quality auditing.
  • Knowledge and experience of field auditing mechanisms within an engineering environment
  • Skilled at using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and generally proficient with IT Tools
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a small team
  • Highly organised Auditor with a proven track record of planning and executing tasks to achieve deadlines
  • Coaching capabilities
  • Full driving licence.
