Job Description

A Design Engineer (Automotive) position has become available, within a business that supplies revolutionary technology to the ever changing Automotive industry. As they work through a huge period of growth, this award winning company is looking to expand its various teams, including additional Process Engineering and Design staff. The successful professional will be responsible for the ongoing design of their bespoke product range and liaising with production engineering staff on manufacturing concerns. Design Engineer duties include –

  • Design simple hand operating fixtures, through to more complex automated multifunction components and tooling.
  • Support resolutions of manufacturing based concerns relevant to new processes, new products, productivity, waste, quality and safety.
  • Work closely with both suppliers and customers from initial enquiry’s through to final launch.
  • Liaise with the testing and development teams of new company’s products.

    • Design Engineer desirable skills and experience –

  • Experience in a similar position (Mechanical Design of assemblies, fixtures and tooling).
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, SPM would be an advantageous.
  • Relevant engineering education and/or training.
