We’re currently looking for a Strategy Futures Lead on a full time, permanent basis. This position sits within the Strategy team.

The job

Reporting to the Head of Strategy Development and Alignment, on a daily basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Lead the review of global external trends and analyse risks and opportunities, preparing reports for, and presenting to, the Strategic Performance Group and Executive Team and inputting into other material/forums as required. The aim is to fully understand the trend, its potential impact and to be able to recommend a response to be incorporated into plans
  • Analyse global traditional and non-traditional competitor activity, its impact on ACCA and potential opportunities for collaboration with competitors
  • Analyse geopolitical risks and likely impact on ACCA
  • Working with the Partnerships team to understand key partner (employer, education provider etc) strategies and identify opportunities to feed into plans to better meet these partners’ needs, building our value proposition for these customer groups
  • Lead development of insight (analysis and recommendations) to inform ET strategy days, strategic reviews, projects and other activity
  • Leading alliance and M&A evaluation
  • Develop scenarios to identify which trends are most likely, will have the highest impact to inform decision making
  • Design workshops/meetings to challenge/assess trends with cross-functional groups
  • Be responsible for, or input into, relevant risks and mitigations on ACCA’s corporate risk register and, where appropriate, ensure the relevant mitigations are in place

The person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Educated to degree level or demonstrable experience of in-depth research, analysis and problem solving to demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate informed judgement based on facts/data in developing objective, well-balanced recommendations
  • Knowledge of geopolitical, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental trends that may impact on ACCA
  • Be able to push boundaries to challenge the status quo
  • Be able to communicate analysis and recommendations clearly and succinctly, building compelling presentations with content tailored to the appropriate audience: story tell with creative visual designs and data
  • Experience in designing and running workshops with cross-functional teams
  • Able to work in partnership/cross-functionally, recognising diverse perspectives to develop recommendations
  • Delivery-focused, keeping things simple, helping teams to navigate ambiguity and working with agility
  • A commitment to continuous learning.
