Job Description

A support role in the Highways team is required to cover the contractual requirement for responding to Elected Member enquiries and corporate complaints, to support with communication of highways schemes, as well as other support duties as required by the team. The post will directly allow the Highways technical staff members to dedicate their time to managing highway maintenance, gully cleansing and road and footpath improvement schemes, and subsequently the delivery of fee-earning commissions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide exemplar customer service
  • Be a key point of contact for customer enquiries into the Highways team
  • Liaise with partner organisations, stakeholders, and external agencies as appropriate
  • Respond to complaints, Freedom of Information requests and customer enquiries through multiple channels of communication
  • Effectively prioritise work and complete it within deadlines, ensuring that all customers are responded to appropriately and on time
  • Deliver administrative support on a flexible basis, including assisting in the production of reports, plans, letters and ad hoc documents, attending meetings, taking notes and chasing actions
  • Ensure confidentiality of information and data protection regulations are followed
  • Assist in the work of the wider Highways team
  • What we’re looking for:

  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grades A-C
  • Excellent organisational skills assist in the work of the wider Highways team
  • Experience organisational skills
  • Experience in Customer Service
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A Proactive approach to the efficient management of enquires and requests
  • Competent IT Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Motivation and determination to complete activities accurately to high standards and on time.
  • Ability to influence other staff to obtain information in a timely manner.
