Salary: £37, – £50, PRO RATA – £18, – £25,(market supplements included)

In addition to the excellent salary package the post offers a 20% uplift in remuneration for unsocial hours and weekend working

Post 2: Part-time, 18.5 hours, Permanent

Location: Horsham

The Emergency Duty Team service operates seven days a week days a year, all team members follow a rota consisting of blocks of days working followed by blocks of rest days. EDT is a small and supportive team and seek a flexible, confident and autonomous team player who will share our dedication and commitment to improving children and young people’s lives and have the ability to make appropriate decisions with a clear analytical rationale in a timely manner.

You will be an experienced social worker with excellent knowledge of both legislation and safeguarding.

Key Skills:

  • Able to analyse and interpret information and data, prioritise needs and formulate plans for intervention and service provision
  • Able to work proactively as a member of the team to make accurate assessments of needs and negotiate and implement effective outcomes
  • Able to work in partnership with carers, colleagues and external agencies to deliver an effective service
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral format, including the ability to explain complicated information to others and use negotiation and persuasion skills to encourage others to adopt a course of action
  • Able to recognise limits of own accountability and responsibility and seek appropriate support, advice and supervision

    • Qualifications/experience:

  • Recognised Social Work qualification or equivalent as recognised by relevant professional body
  • Completion of relevant post qualifying training
  • Evidence of at least one year’s experience post qualification
  • Registration with relevant professional body and maintaining registration
  • Knowledge of theoretical Social Work concepts and practices, with demonstrable examples of dealing with a breadth of complex issues and situations
  • Effective partnership working, forming working relationships with individuals and colleagues, focusing on the needs and handling conflict and disagreement
  • Wffectively coaching and supervising others, acting as practice role model and promoting exemplary practice
  • Experience managing levels of risk within a caseload of complex cases
  • Readiness to work towards Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) qualification at Stage one/equivalent
  • Valid full driving licence
