Can you engage with a wide range of people? Do you have the confidence to provide a warm welcome to our diverse museum audiences?
Part of the world leading Science Museum Group, the National Railway Museum is known for its inspiring collections and excellent visitor experience.
Joining our Visitor Fundraising team, you will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of customer service by providing a warm welcome to our diverse museum audiences and asking for voluntary donations.
About the role
We are now recruiting Visitor Fundraisers to support the Museum over a range of shifts!
Positions available are:
- 31 hours – typically 10:00 – 16:00 shifts between Wednesday and Sunday, working a 4 week rolling rota and working 1 weekend in 2. Additional hours can be requested during school holidays, if interested.
- Casual zero-hour contact – you can be scheduled to work for a combination of shifts over opening hours each week. The regularity of your shifts will not be determined by a rota, but more on an ad-hoc basis.
Working Front of House, you will be one of the first faces our guests see when they enter the museum. You will have the confidence to engage with visitors in a professional and friendly manner, encouraging donations, up selling our commercial offerings, increasing ticket sales and furthering awareness of Gift Aid to help meet our fundraising goals.
You will be a true advocate for the Museum and the Group, with the ability to absorb information and communicate this in a positive and engaging way. Using your excellent communication skills, you can actively approach and encourage donations from our diverse audiences.
Whether you have been a fundraiser in the past, worked sales or retail, or if you this would be a new venture for you – We are keen to hear from you! You will be key to inspiring others in future of the Museum and confidently engaging the public to support us.
