Reporting into: Engineering Team Lead

Contract type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Fully remote – open to candidates based in UK. If based in the UK, you are more than welcome to work from our lovely London office. We are also able to offer visa sponsorship to candidates who are/will be based in the UK.

About our team


The Engineering teams at Bibliu are designed with stakeholders in mind. You would be joining the Institutions team which primarily serves librarians. We are a friendly, open-minded, collaborative team and are always aiming to improve ourselves and our processes. Team puts an emphasis on teamwork and close collaboration.

Team purpose:

  • Librarians are able to purchase content through us

  • Content is correctly assigned to students

  • Provide reporting on usage of content

  • Automate librarian workflows


Responsibilities


Note: we are open to hiring junior candidates in which case the following would become targets!

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and help us make technical implementation decisions.

  • Build new features for our existing products.

  • Troubleshoot issues and maintain our existing stack.


About you


Requirements (though we are flexible)

  • Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS)

  • Proficient in JavaScript and Node.js

  • Comfortable with SQL we used MySQL

  • Building out SPA

Ideal:

  • Experience with event driven architecture

  • Understanding of dynmnodb and data design

  • Always keen to learn and self improve
