HR Advisor

We are currently looking for an HR Advisor to join our busy team!

As a HR Advisor, you will be responsible for delivery of a full range of human resource services. One of your main roles is advising on both recruiting new staff and taking care of existing staff. Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations. Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g., employee appraisal systems and reward schemes) Monitoring, reviewing, and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation.

Location: Wolverhampton

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 pa depending on experience

HR Advisor Duties:

  • Providing advice and assistance on policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Interpreting and advising on employment law such as maternity/paternity and flexible working requests with support from our legal advice consultants
  • Consulting on issues related to workplace relations and performance management including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary processes
  • Updating and maintaining the HR documentation and the HR Information System data
  • Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Consulting closely with the Finance team regarding pay related queries and preparation of documentation for Payroll
  • Support with onboarding of new staff; developing job descriptions and induction programmes, preparing job adverts, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates
  • Ensuring workstations and equipment are prepared
  • Preparing employee offers and contracts
  • Planning and delivering training – including inductions for new staff
  • Analysing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers

HR Advisor Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience of working within human resources or similar function
  • CIPD qualification or willing to work towards
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade C or above (to include English language and
  • Mathematics)
  • Excellent MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Commercially focused
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage own workload
  • Excellent, time management, organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines whilst prioritising multiple tasks
  • Applies attention to detail
  • Ability to engage in a manner to suit a variety of audiences
  • Effective communication and inter personnel skills
  • Ability to build relationships and negotiate with people at all levels
  • Works well under pressure and logical approach to work
  • Ability to work without supervision; use own initiative and solve problems
