Fish Filleter & Quality Control

Location: Waltham Cross, Herts

Salary: circa £30,000 per annum

Shift: 5 over 7 shift pattern on a rota. 40 hours per week

Core Hours: 0830 – 1630 (some flexibility required)

We are able to offer a bespoke solution that is specific to our clients’ needs and our fish and seafood is processed and packed at source, increasing the efficiency of our supply chain and enabling us to guarantee full traceability.

Due to our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fish Filleter & Quality Controller to join out team in Waltham Cross. Working in a chilled environment you will be preparing and cutting fish for packing to company specifications, whilst ensuring quality, consistency and traceability standards are always followed.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare fish to customer specification, including boning, filleting, cutting and trimming.
  • Following the company’s food safety culture through production and cleaning.
  • Maintain and clean workstations to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that wastage is minimal, and you work in a cost-efficient manner.
  • To follow internal procedures in relation to fish & food preparation and temperature controls.
  • Responsible for maintaining all legalities, Health & Safety and HACCP control within the department in accordance with Company policy and strict legal guidelines.
  • Maintain the pace and standards of performance within the factory environment.
  • Producing excellent quality packed products safely and efficiently to meet our customer and technical standard
  • To assist in the quality control of products within the company

To be successful in your application for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience.

  • Proven experience in fish preparation is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a fish filleting role.
  • Excellent people skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Confident knife skills and knowledge of different cuts of fish
