This role is currently based from home due to COVID 19 until further notice. Peabody plans to move to a hybrid model of working which means that once our office refurbishment has been completed, the role will be part office (Waterloo) and part home based. 

The new Peabody is a significantly larger, more diverse organisation, employing over 3,000 people and servicing over 55,000 properties. The Surveying Team sits within the Service Delivery directorate and is responsible for the delivery of Major Repairs, Aids & Adaptions, Specialist Works, Disrepair and Professional Services. 

We are now looking for one enthusiastic, forward thinking Trainee Building Surveyor to provide specialist technical surveying expertise. In addition to this, you will also assist in the delivery of specialist works which include structural; fire damage; insurance works; Fire Risk Assessment works; major repairs; improvement and refurbishment works etc.

Skills/Experience required:

  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Good skills in managing customer relationships and communication to ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction
  • Some knowledge of Schedule of Rates and methods of measurement, with experience in achieving and ensuring Value for Money
  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health & Safety and other legislation relevant to the role
  • Ability to achieve results and deliver challenging objectives.
  • Excellent all round IT skills.
  • Strong approach to teamwork and the ability to collaborate and step-up when to help the organisation achieve its mission.
  • Qualifications required:

  • Basic technical qualification in surveying.
  • Contract Length: 12 months FTC

    Salary: £25,000 – £27,409

    Location – Pan London, however predominately South Region
