 You will be making up a team of 45 consultants including 2 MOD Consultants. The post is advertised on the basis of 10 PAs and any additional PAs will be subject to negotiation. You may need to take part in General/Obstetric Consultant on-call rota.

  Main duties of the job

 The distribution of workload and departmental planning requires a degree of flexibility from Consultant Anesthetists. All of the predictable and unpredictable DCC work of this post is annualized and will consist of a flexible number of clinical sessions per week (planned sessions 4-8 for theatre/obstetrics) to an agreed annualized total. One all day fixed session may be agreed for the development of a subspecialty interest

Essential criteria

  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within 6 months of completion of training.
  • A wide experience and training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care to Consultant level
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
  • Be prepared to work across sites as and when required
