We are looking to

recruit an experienced and motivated individual to the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner for the Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC).

This is an exciting opportunity to start a new service within Glangwili General Hospital, as part of the NHS long term plan to provide a same day service. The SDEC is designed to facilitate rapid assessment and investigation of speciality patients referred from GP and the Emergency Department. Those who need hospital admission are streamed to either The Clinical Decision Unit or specialist wards in the Hospital.

We are seeking an individual with excellent clinical skills, a good working knowledge of care pathways and the patient journey. The successful individual is required to have strong communication and leadership skills and will be a dynamic and forward thinking clinician with a progressive approach to enhancing patient care and safety within urgent, emergency and acute care services. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Health Care Professional (NMC / HCPC)
  • Relevant Masters Degree/180 credits at Level 7 in relevant area OR 60 Credits at Masters Level, (level 7) and requirement to complete 120 additional level 7 (or full masters degree) within 2 academic years of appointment with equivalent experience
  • Non-Medical Prescriber, or willingness to commit to undertake in line with future service development.
