The University Information Services (UIS) is seeking an¿Institution Support IT Technician to join their Institution Support Service team in providing contracted IT support to a variety of departments, colleges and other organisations within the University.
Institution Support is a dynamic and friendly team where you will be working in a hybrid onsite/remote arrangement as part of a geographically dispersed team.
The Role is varied and interesting as we support a number of University institutions. It represents an ideal opportunity for working in IT within the university and/or to progress your skill base. This role includes:
Interfacing with the end users/customers during the investigation and resolution of incidents.
Providing 1st and 2nd line Support on both managed and unmanaged Windows and Apple Devices.
Utilising application knowledge to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems.
Collaborating and liaising with colleagues to ensure the best outcome
Identifying and implementing improvements to procedures
Updating existing documentation as required.
Ensuring the resolution of incidents in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
The ideal candidate should have:
Experience supporting customers in the use of IT systems and services
Demonstrable team-working experience
Clearly developed customer service skills
A solid working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Mac OS, iOS and Android as well as a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Ability to manage and prioritise own tasks
Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Be highly proactive and enthusiastic
Fixed-term: 2 years.
