Robert Half are pleased to be working exclusively with my client based in Witney & Cirencester. They deliver services to local communities on behalf of their local councils. The Finance Business Partner/Accountant position has opened up to deliver financial support and assist the business in the provision of business partnering, budget management and budget setting. They will also assist in the closedown of the statutory accounts and provide support to the finance team. The role offers lots of hybrid working, with the need to attend the office just for collaboration purposes.

Duties:

  • To provide a high quality accountancy service to clients.
  • To be proactive in supporting managers in all aspects of budget management
  • To take day to day responsibility for all aspects of financial support and advice within specified clients and/or service areas
  • Assist with the production of statutory final accounts in accordance with the timetable determined by the Finance Business Manager including supporting notes and detailed working papers in accordance with External Audit requirements.
  • Assist with planning the annual estimates process.
  • Assist with the delivery and development of an effective budgetary control and monitoring process.
  • Be proactive in contributing to the development of systems and its clients to meet their corporate objectives.
  • Liaise with internal and external audit as required to ensure sound and effective systems and processes are in place.
  • Working to add value to, and be a valued member of the team, and to be valued by customers

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a financial environment, ideally in an Accountant or management accounting / business partnering role.
  • Proactive approach
  • Able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven experience in a budgeting and budget monitoring
  • High level of judgement, tact, discretion and initiative
  • Proven experience of production of Accounts
  • Experience of dealing with senior managers and auditors
