We are looking for an Graduate DM Planner to join Capita at an exciting time for the Breckland District Council/Capita Partnership. We are currently looking to recruit a motivated individual to join our successful Development Management (DM) team based in Dereham. As our Graduate D M Planner , you will be part of an ambitious, successful team providing our core client with high quality, timely and outcome based development management services.
What you’ll be doing:
Manage a personal caseload of Planning applications including: assessment of the need for planning permission, pre-application assessments, planning applications and appeals.
Attend Planning Committee and present applications, as required
Provide support and assistance to colleagues within the Planning Enforcement and Technical Support Teams as required
Keeping up to date with current legislation and policy changes
Dealing with all aspects of the Development Management processes to include site visits, consultations and negotiations
Providing timely, well written reports and recommendations to the managers of the development management and enforcement teams
What we are looking for:
A degree in Town and Country Planning/another relevant Degree or experience working in a Planning environment
A desire to work towards membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
Some knowledge of current legislation relating to planning
The ability to prioritise and manage a workload, and to work flexibly to meet the commercial and contractual requirements of the business
The ability to use personal initiative to solve challenges
Hold a current driving licence and access to your own vehicle
