Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Finance team as a Finance Officer, working full time from our office in Wakefield on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Sense provides a range of support services for people with complex disabilities including residential, supported living and day services. We are commissioned by over 100 local authorities and clinical commissioning groups across the UK. 

The finance officer will support with monthly management accounts processes and reconciliations, the running and distribution of reports, the capitalisation of assets, the gift aid claim process, and be responsible for the processing of Sense Branch income and expenditure statements on a quarterly basis.

Key skills and experience

  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role, including experience of performing reconciliations.
  • Accounting degree or part AAT qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of building excellent working relationships with internal colleagues and external agencies to ensure team objectives are met. 
  • Experience of resolving issues independently, taking ownership as problems arise and exercising judgement in referring issues to colleagues
  • Excellent IT skills. Familiar with a range of Excel functionality (lookups, pivot tables). Familiar with Microsoft Word, Outlook etc.
