Robert Half are working in an exclusive partnership with a forward thinking, growing business in Swindon to recruit a newly-created Senior Payroll Specialist to to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity that will consist of having the responsibility to bring the payroll in-house, implemen processes/procedures and take full ownership of the payroll function. This will be an autonomous role and it will be well-suited for an experienced payroll specialist that is looking for a challenge and be a part of an exciting company. This is a full-time permanent position offering a salary between £30,000 – £35,000 plus hybrid working and other excellent benefits.

The Role

The main duties of the Senior Payroll Specialist will consist of the following:

  • Full responsibility and management of the payroll function
  • Responsibility of bringing external payroll to internal and overseeing the transition of this process
  • Processing the staff payroll on a monthly basis
  • Creating P11D’s, P45’s and P60’s
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Calculating sick pay, maternity/paternity pay, holiday and sickness pay
  • Dealing with contracts of employment
  • Maintaining payroll data on the payroll system

Requirements

To be considered for the Senior Payroll Specialist position, you must ideally possess the following skills/attributes:

  • Must have experience in processing a monthly payroll
  • Experience of bringing payroll internally/in-house would be advantageous
  • Good attention to detail
  • Innovative
  • Good team player
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience using Sage Payroll would be advantageous but not a key necessity
