Job Description

An experienced Rolling Mill Operator is required for a large manufacturing and engineering company, with a number of blue chip customers, based in Wolverhampton on a temp to perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a rolling mill operator to join a successful company that specialise in the manufacture and welding of barriers and safety fences. Your role within the business would be to set and operate the rolling mill. It is a modern machine line with state-of-the-art technology for the industry.

Duties include;

  • Running the rolling mill to process steel
  • Loading coil onto the machine line
  • Operating the controls using a touchscreen monitor
  • Bending steel for crash barriers
  • Operating an overhead crane to handle steel and load the machine

    • The shift pattern for this role is working mornings and afternoons rotating weekly;

    6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm.

    The pay starts on a training rate of £10.53 per hour.

    In addition to this you will also get a “piece-work” rate that will bring your earnings to between £11.00 to £15.00 per hour, dependent on how much work gets processed , so as long as you put in the effort you can make your rate a lot higher.
