Childrens Support Worker

We are looking for a specialist experienced Support Worker to join our team.

Supporting vulnerable children and young people in crisis.

A dedicated and passionate childrens support worker with commitment and understanding, delivering high levels of support, creating safe environments and offering a deep understanding of trauma and how it impacts behaviours.

What you can expect

  • Provide day to day support relating to activities, appointments and family contact.
  • Engage and encourage the child or young person to join in with activities.
  • Provide accurate reports and information to support the development of goals and care plans.
  • Play a critical role in the safeguarding and wellbeing of the child or young person.
  • What you will bring

  • Experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Confident working with colleagues at times of heightened behaviours using de-escalation techniques.
  • Experience making decisions and taking action in challenging situations.
  • Daily and accurate daily record keeping.
  • Calmness during crisis situations such as aggression, self harm and destructive behaviours.
  • Understand how trauma and diagnosis can impact behaviours of children and young people.
  • Skills and training

  • DBS on update service or support a new application.
  • PMVA trained or willing to undertake training.
  • Driving License and business insurance.
  • This position offers flexible working hours/shifts and an hourly rate of between £14.50 – £20.38

    Please note this position requires you to have a minimum of 12 months paid experience working with children and young people in a residential setting within the UK.
