The Apprenticeships Unit at Manchester Met is responsible for the development, recruitment, and delivery of degree apprenticeships across the University. As Deputy Director of Apprenticeships, you will join the dynamic senior leadership of a sector-leading, proactive team of colleagues who recently achieved Outstanding from Ofsted in all categories.

Our programme has grown significantly over the last six years, and we now partner with around 540 employers, including global corporates, many public sector organisations, and a wide range of small businesses. We engage daily with a wide range of academic colleagues from all faculties to support the delivery of high quality and industry relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications to over 2,500 apprentices currently on programme.

Reporting to the Director, you will provide professional services leadership and guidance in line with university strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • working with the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategic and operational plans.
  • overseeing the monitoring and analysis of Apprenticeship data against Key Performance Indicators and targets.
  • ensuring that quality systems and processes are fully embedded to retain the University’s Outstanding Ofsted status, ESFA and other compliance.
  • co-ordinating the day-to-day operational work of the Apprenticeships Unit, supporting the delivery of apprenticeships and the improvement of systems and processes as required.
  • We work with multiple stakeholders and advise on skills policy. You will assist the Director in developing external partnerships to share best practice and enhance the reputation of the University. You will also deputise for the Director of Apprenticeships and represent the University as and when required as an advocate for degree apprenticeships.
