Job summary
We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Commissioning Manager to jointhe Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Commissioning team in NHSSussex. This role provides an excitingopportunity for you to accelerate improvements in local children and youngpeoples emotional wellbeing and mental health support and care, and support thedelivery of our ambitious plans in Sussex.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake both locality and at scale commissioning of mentalhealth services for children and young people.You will be responsible for delivering key priorities and programmes tosupport the delivery of system wide strategy for children and young peoplesemotional wellbeing and mental health.The post holder will be the commissioning lead in Brighton and Hove andwill primarily take responsibility for delivery in the locality, but will workclosely with mental health commissioners across Sussex and as such lead Sussexwide programmes of work.

Essential
- Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
- Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the NHS England, Integrated Care Boards, Integrated Care partnerships and provider and commissioning organisations.
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
- Understanding Public Sector
- Demonstrable experience of working in Health Environment
- Comprehensive experience of project principles techniques and tools such as Prince 2 and Managing Successful Projects
Desirable
- Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others. Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals
Skills and Knowledge
