The role

As an Engineering Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The development of the Babcock T23 Refit Support Group (RSG) team is an exciting opportunity for engineering technicians to maintain and repair a wide range of equipment and systems in a dynamic and varied environment.

Day to day, you’ll maintain electrical and mechanical systems on vessels in deep maintenance and also contribute to the regeneration of systems and equipment to full operational condition ready for tests and trials. The role will involve the development of new skills and reporting on system and equipment condition to ensure stakeholder awareness for future operation.

Essential experience of the Engineering Technician,

* You will be a qualified electrical or mechanical technician with the ability to generate defect reports and populate information into a maintenance management system.
* You will have good engineering and professional standards, a proactive attitude and be agile and adaptable.
* Previous experience as an RN Engineering Technician or Seaman is desirable however this is not a requirement and all candidates with a background in electrical, mechanical or seamanship equipment and system maintenance and repair will be considered

This role is based onsite at Devonport.

Qualifications for the Engineering Technician,

* City and Guilds level 3 in a relevant discipline or experience as assessed by the Chief Engineer.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
