Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to work at Hillis Lodge.
Hillis Lodge is a 15 bedded male low secure hospital, offering care and treatment to service users from across the West Midlands, who have severe and enduring mental health conditions.
You would be working with the Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary team to deliver one to one interventions as well as group work and will require practical and creative skills in order to promote independence and to improve overall emotional wellbeing.
You will act as a positive role model for staff and students and behave in a manner that reflects the philosophy of the unit and the values of the organisation as a whole.
Main duties of the job
You will be supported by a registered Occupational Therapist and will receive regular management supervision and clinical supervision. Training and development will be provided in line with discussed development reviews.
We would require someone to have NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification and a good understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy / provision of activities within a mental health setting.
Overall we are looking for a motivated and confident member of staff who wants to work within a recovery and person centred model.
