This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and self-motivated Physiotherapist to develop key clinical and team working skills and support their career development. It would be of particular interest & benefit to a Physiotherapist with interests in wholistic wellbeing, healthcare of older people, and/or mental health.

You will join our small but dedicated & supportive team of Physiotherapists supporting adults specifically within Dementia & Frailty services. The service provides high quality recovery-focussed physiotherapy service to those service-users requiring it, through the use of Physiotherapeutic interventions to improve their mental wellbeing & physical functioning and to achieve their goals.

You will be supporting service users & their families and working closely with other members of the MDT on our inpatient wards across Birmingham. You will gain experience in assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, functional and frailty conditions. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload and organising your time to meet the needs of the service and service users.

Main duties of the job

To assess, evaluate, treat & advise service-users with varying physical and psychological conditions, individually or in groups as appropriate.

To establish each service-user’s goals and create an individualised plan of physiotherapy intervention to enable recovery & progress towards these.

To maintain accurate and comprehensive physiotherapy records for each client and participate in extensive MDT working, including with family & carers wherever appropriate.

To carry and prioritise your own varied caseload within allocated speciality area, acting as an autonomous practitioner.

To access advice and support from a senior physiotherapist as required.

To contribute to evidence based audit, projects and other activities to further own development and to contribute towards further development of the service.

To act as clinical educator to student Physiotherapists as required, with the support of the wider team.
