Band 5 – 6 development post – Adult Speech and Language Therapy

Are you graduating as an SLT this summer and keen to work with adults across a range of clinical settings? Or are you a current Band 5 SLT looking for an opportunity to begin to develop your specialist skills at Band 6? If so, we have a post for you, here in beautiful North East Wales! You will develop independence in your clinical practice with both communication difficulties and dysphagia through working with a range of patients across acute and community sites.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

We have an established development framework to enable you to progress from Band 5 to Band 6 when the time is right for you. You will be able to explore your own clinical interests across adult services. We will support with regular appraisals, management and clinical supervision and a strong focus on continued professional development, including developing your independent dysphagia competencies through our All Wales competency framework if needed. For those joining as a new band 5, we have a newly qualified practitioner support group and a robust system to support you to achieve your NQP competencies.

We will welcome you into our friendly, supportive and experienced team of SLTs and TIs, working across acute, community and prison services in North East Wales. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we develop increasing remote and digital therapies, work within multi-disciplinary teams to transform health and social care for adults, and develop newly re-modelled stroke services across the region.
