We are seeking a committed, compassionate and experienced individual to lead the Theatre team within our thriving Day Surgery Unit based at Charing Hospital, Hammersmith – Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is an ideal opportunity to expand your leadership and management skills and to join our dynamic Day Surgery team.

You will play an integral role in the smooth running of the service. You will oversee safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards. Your leadership qualities will incorporate a creative and innovative approach to ensure efficient and cost-effective management of human, financial and material resources.

The post holder will work very closely with the other specialist theatre team leaders to ensure the needs of the patients are placed at the centre of the care delivery. You will support the patient pathway and ensure the safe management of the clinical areas through establishment of clear working practices.

The successful candidate will be a skilled theatre practitioner with understanding and experince of Clinical Governance, Quality and Safety in the Operating department.

Main duties of the job

  • Coordinate the day-today activities of Theatres, ensuring that staffing and material needs are planned in a manner appropriate to requirements and are cost-efficient.
  • Oversee safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards.
  • Provide specialist peri-operative advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients and their relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Act as a positive role model to junior staff members, providing strong and effective leadership for all registered and non-registered health care workers
  • At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery
  • Responsible for the standards of cleanliness in the clinical area and for a well mantained environment.
