Senior Commercial Contract Management Analyst / Supplier Financial Assurance (non-Clinical)

We are excited to be setting up a best-in-class commercial contract management ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the Barts Health NHSTrust for management of approximately £200m pa of long term gold, silver, and bronze tier contracts.

We have a need for a dynamic Supplier Commercial Contract Management Analyst / Supplier Finance Assurance – Non-Clinical, Band 7.

The ‘Centre of Excellence’ has the full support of the executive board and key stakeholders with the Head of Commercial Contract Management leadership position reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer. Our mission is to now move beyond concept stage to implementation, covering a vast range of clinical and corporate departments ranging from Pathology, Pharmacy, Clinical Support to Informatics and Corporate.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for managing the overview and upkeep of all commercial and suppliers’ contracts held at Barts Health. Work with and assist different departments within the Trust, including IT and Finance, and agree on the optimum ways of capturing data/information and how to store it for easy accessibility
  • Review and perform a risk analysis of suppliers and contracts on a regular basis and recommend appropriate business continuity and resilience measures
  • Assess the suppliers’ financial viability and coordinate formal evaluation and benchmarking of supplier performance
  • Conduct an annual or periodical review of contracts to prevent potential disputes and financial risk and escalate to the Commercial Contract Management leadership team, as required
  • Responsible for keeping track of all contracts held at Barts Health. Populate key contract data points into a specified central location as well as periodically completing supplier financial assurance. Collaborate with different departments to agree how data will be captured and when
  • Provide reporting and management information to the CCM Team as well as to the departments periodically
  • Oversee the contract tiering assessment of contracts to enable appropriate resource and risk allocation and responsible for logging the contract(s) in the appropriate repository/portfolio

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in Business, Business Law, Finance or a related field of study
  • Evidence of further professional development or accreditation World Commerce & Contracting certification (formerly IAACM) or equivalent, or any other appropriate professional qualification/membership

Desirable

  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Certification.
  • Masters in Procurement

Training & Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ in-depth experience as a contract analyst, analysing and interpreting complex information and presenting it in a simplified manner.
  • Experience working with large, aggregate reports NHS central returns and commissioning datasets, private sector, community sector.
  • Experience generating reports using web-based reporting services.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of UK and International laws
  • Knowledge of tools for analysing large datasets
  • Knowledge of developing applications in SharePoint.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide detailed informatics advice to both other specialists and non-Informatics staff.
  • Good commercial skills and understanding of different business drivers to achieve value
